Brimstone Comics World Premiere a Huge Success

Levittown native and retired pro wrestler Brimstone keeps very busy these days. Aside from the initial catapult from his sporting career, he is an actor, author, philanthropist, and the influence for a comic book character and series.

The Hound Comics CEO, William “Brimstone” Kucmierowski, is focused on pioneering unique ways of branding the Brimstone name through current projects including an upcoming autobiography titled, Brimstone: From the Barren Wastelands of My Mind, and a branded clothing line, “BrimWEAR.”

His recent success with the release of Brimstone and the Borderhounds comic book series based on his character is having a domino effect in the right direction, boosting his business credibility.

Recently Brimstone and his eclectic crew of Borderhounds made their entrance into Wizard World’s Miami Comic Con, revealing the highly anticipated Brimstone and the Borderhounds: The Animated Series. Hound Comics will join forces with Floating Pear Productions to produce the animated series of the comic book.

As if this was not enough exciting news already for fans of the comic book series, Peter Mayhew, better known for his role as the legendary Star Wars character, Chewbacca, has signed onto the animation’s voice-over cast.

In a recent interview, Brimstone shared with the Anton Newspapers what inspired the development of his comic book series.

Brimstone said, “I always thought that the character of Brimstone would just make an awesome comic book character; I pitched the idea to several people who turned it down, then got in contact with Dark Horse comics and they loved the idea.”

After exchanging some ideas with the publisher, Dark Horse Comics, about what the Brimstone character would look like, Brimstone contacted Martelllo Carnevali to begin developing the storyline. They met in a diner and developed most of the story for the first series within several hours.

“Well, I have always been a big fan of comic books; wrestling itself is sort of like a big comic book where larger than life heroes come to life in front of you,” said Brimstone.

Brimstone debuted as a wrestler in 1996. He said the theatrics of wrestling is what most attracted him to the career.

“It’s like a Broadway show; there are heroes and villains, tragedies, betrayals, and redemptions. The better you are at selling your character, the more positive the crowd response will be,” said Brimstone. “There are not many feelings that compare to the rush you feel when you’re generating a reaction from a crowd; it’s incredible!
