Chevy Lt1 Swap

Hi, I am sure you have all seen this question before. I would appreciate any advice. I have a 95 Z28 w/ 5.7 350 LT1 6 speed manual that needs a new engine or rebuild the current one. I feel somewhat comfortable removing and replacing the engine as long as it is basically a swap 1 for 1 no other conversions required, basically a turnkey. I would like to turn this car into a show car somewhere down the road when I have a little more money but am willing to put some $ into the engine to start with. What do you think are good options? Rebuilt the current engine 200,000 miles, it also may have been rebuilt already? Buy a crate engine long block? If a Create engine would be a good option what one?
