Bellaire police report: armed robbery attempts, home burglaries

5140 Cedar St., Glidden, Professional Paint Center. The victim reported that an unknown subject attempted to rob them at gunpoint while they were walking on the sidewalk in front of the Professional Paint Center. The victim stated that nothing was stolen. The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s or 30s, wearing black shorts and white shirt, skinny, no facial hair, about 5-feet-8-inches tall, and armed with a silver handgun. The victim was not injured.

5400 block of Bissonnet, Metro bus stop, June 16. The victim reported that they were robbed at gunpoint by a black male who displayed a silver semi-automatic pistol. The unknown suspect then fled on foot heading north from that location.

• Burglary of a habitation, 100 block of Pamellia, June 17. An officer was dispatched to a burglary alarm. The officer noted the residence had been burglarized. This incident is under investigation.

• Burglary of a habitation, 4400 block of Lula, June 18. Sometime between June 15-18, an unknown suspect or suspects entered the residence and removed property. This incident is under investigation.

• Driving while intoxicated, 6700 block of Renwick, June 13. A vehicle was traveling slowly through the intersection of Bellaire Boulevard with its front bumper dragging on the ground. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested and charged for that offense.

• Recover stolen vehicle, 1200 block of Anderson, June 13. Bellaire Police received a late stolen confirmation on a vehicle after it was towed by an agency earlier. The vehicle was reported stolen in Houston and Houston Police are investigating this case.

• Attempted suicide, 4500 block of Evergreen, June 13. An officer was dispatched along with the Bellaire Fire Department paramedics in reference to a report of an attempted suicide.

• Assault, 6639 Ferris, Bellaire Motor Inn, June 14. The victim reported that she and her boyfriend had started arguing and fighting after she found him with another woman. The victim stated that during their argument her boyfriend hit her after she slapped him. The Harris County Assistant District Attorney stated that no charges can be filed on either party due to each being mutual combatants.

• Assault, 5130 Bellaire, Randall’s, June 14. An officer was dispatched to a call for a robbery of a person in progress. This call was later determined to be a simple assault. The suspect approached the victim from behind and struck them in the back of the head for no apparent reason. The victim stated they did not want charges filed on the suspect because their family would be returning to their home country later this month.

I can confirm that I am a genuine iPhone 4 user who loves it. Loved the 3GS and the original iPhone before it. But for the first time, I'm affected by a problem that I see others complaining about: battery life is quite noticeably down since 4.3. 4.3.1 doesn't seem to have had much of an effect (not that it ever publicly purported to address that issue). On the contrary, resizeable textareas are part of the CSS3 standard; Safari 3.0 will simply be the first mainstream browser to implement it. Once you try it, I promise you will not want to go back. It's really a non-issue, and I'm surprised anybody's complaining about it to the point they would disable this end-user feature using JavaScript. I'll just disable JavaScript on your site, then, buddy. The CSS3 resizer property is fine and good because you can set resizer:none to a form element if you want to. As a side note, resizer applies to all elements, including html, meaning a site could prevent you from resizing the browser window. That has the potential to be very annoying if abused, as I'm sure it will be. Right now, I don't think any of the main 5 or 6 browsers support this propery for any element. No sir, I don't like it. No matter how you slice it, prices going up with competition going down (T-Mo buyout) only means customer gets screwed. But more importantly, I see this as a hedge for Ma Bell. (Roughly) six months prior to VZW iPhone availability/announcement, ATT hiked up ETFs. Now this. Could be that the upcoming iPhone 5 is yet another killer product in that such a move would be a stop-gap for would-be early upgraders and ATT wanting to offset that subsidy. If timing of this were an indicator like the ETFs in relation to VZW iPhone, six months from now would be quasi-in-line with rumored iPhone 5 release. It looks like AT&T automatically applied the Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile feature on my account. I've always had the 450 minute plan, unlimited texting, and unlimited data ($89.99 not including my corp. discount). I logged in and the Features page displayed Unlimited texting with no mention of Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile. Then I went to the calling plan page and it appears to have already been added.
