Just an observation I made when I used to add seaweed meal to the dry food mixture, I used to see the brown powder in the bottom of the bins, which I thought was dust.  A couple of years ago I came across Natrakelp when visisting Windellama Field Day.  The label calls it liquid seaweed. Llamas and alpaca are included on the label. I no longer see the "dust" in the bottom of of the  feed bowls.www.natrakelp.com.au  it is made in Qld. It seems to soak up a lot of water, becoming a porridge like consistency which mixes into the muesli really well. It takes longer to soak, but I usually set it to soak for 20 minutes before I go mix the muesli. If I'm in a hurry, I put the seaweed and water mix together to soak while I get the rest of the ingredients together and then add it last. It doesn't soak up as much of the water, but still sticks to the muesli and we have no powder residue left over. hi all... used to have the same problem with both the dry seaweed meal, the copra meal, and any dry ingredients i woud put out for the "lotties" (AKA...the 'paca lotties... AKA lots of alpacas and "the girls"... AKA... the goats) i started mixing liquid molasses and hot water together, then into the mix... but to be perfectly honest... since i stopped doing it around two years ago... have not noticed any difference in any of the mobs, they are certainly no less healthy, i have no fertility issues... the only difference is the amount of land that the animals have to graze... have hardly needed to supplementary feed, and all animals are in forward condition... worming is the only thing i have to watch for particularly with the goats... In reference to the dark skinned animals: I was listening to a Dr talk about dark skinned people vulnerable to low vitamin D.  I wonder if this is also the same for dark skinned alpacas.  From my research lack of Vitamin D is not only about bones, but also the immune system, cell division, inflammatory response, normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphorus.       Glad you are finding the ADE and CLO useful. We swear by it and I also think it makes their coat shiny and glowing and my spinner says you can feel the CLO in their fleece and it is very different to fleeces without the CLO. Like the sound of the gel from UK, zinc and castor oil cream is good too but do not know if it still available.     All the best with your creatures   Joy.
