With a reception at the historic studios at 2000 Madison Avenue that will feature the premiere of a creative collection of the group’s first film efforts. At the center of these projects is an animated commercial for Memphis Music Foundation and Music Resource Center, featuring the soulful music of Memphian Keia Johnson and the art of Lamar Sorrento brought to life. Ardent Film Group is a full service production company. Ardent's founder John Fry was very clear in his intentions- to build a world class film department to complement his time honored studios so that any imaginable creative endeavor could be realized right here in Memphis. John's first act was to hire native Memphian Jonathan Pekar, who then relocated from Los Angeles to be Director of Ardent's Film Department. Known for his relentless creativity, Pekar's resume is as diversified as his talents. The USC Cinematic-Arts alum has worked as producer for the Discovery Channel, writing, filming, and coordinating production for Shark Week, among other programs. He has also worked for Another Panjak Productions (The Bronzing of Traveler documentary for The University of Southern California), Netter Digital Productions (coordinator/producer for the Max Steel animated series), and 7th Level Productions (coordinating producer for Monty Python’s Meaning of Life video game). He’s done work for Vans, Nintendo, Walt Disney Studios, Beverly Hills 90210, SST Records, MTV Sports, and a bevy of others.
