"It's always been a dream of mine to play banjo in Whites Creek, Tennessee," said Steve Martin during his performance at The Woods at Fontanel near Nashville on Friday evening (May 27). Martin joined the Steep Canyon Rangers for a two-hour concert, playing songs from his new album, Rare Bird Alert . He also performed "Daddy Played the Banjo" and "Wally on the Run" from his 2009 Grammy-winning bluegrass album, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo . Girdwood Wedding Photography at the Crow Creek Mine | Minaret ...
This weekend I had the pleasure of making photos of a stunning outdoor wedding in Girdwood Alaska. The location, light, and lovely people put a smile on my face the entire day.
I met Pat and Naomi (check out their Reno engagement photos here) in college and it has been a pleasure to know them individually and as a couple. I couldn’t have been happier to see such perfect and beautiful people celebrating with their family and friends.
Throughout the day a typical Alaskan weather pattern kept the sun hidden, threatening to rain and be sunny at the same time. The cloud cover produced soft light, making everybody’s skin and features glow. I love shooting wedding photos when it’s so easy to make them great.
The historic buildings and well-manicured grounds at Crow Creek Mine provided a perfect texture to the celebratory feel of the day. A surreal forest of ferns, devil’s club, moss, and evergreens combined with the natural, diffused light and merged gracefully with my love of environmental portraiture. Places can be such a strong representation of who we are as people. The use of place to convey emotion and create a connection is a big part of Minaret Photography’s personality and is what we love about our clients.
