Re-sale, consignment shop re-opens in Bloomfield
The beginning of June marked the reopening of Hopefully Yours at 22 West Main Street in Bloomfield, but this time with a new owner.The store was originally opened by Owner and Founder of HOPE Housing Kelly Harding, and Myers said she continues to help with input regarding the store.
Donna Myers of Linton reopened the resale and consignment shop with hopes of being able to help those people that are struggling in these hard economic times. She also expressed concern for families with more than one child in school that had to purchase clothes at the beginning of the school year.
"None of the clothes are over $3... I just don't see how families with more than one child do it (buy clothes)," Myers said.
Most of the items available in Hopefully Yours were purchased wholesale, which are goods sold for commercial businesses by Myers, or bought at auctions.
Some of the items in the thrift style store consist of kitchenware, clothes, bassinets, high chairs, car seats and more. Myers has also expanded into the next building, offering discounted furniture.
Myers is accepting donations for resale. Anyone one can drop off items at the shop during open hours, or to have donations picked up, call Myers at 812-798-3479. She noted she does not sell items that are not next to new. Also, HOPE Housing is always accepting donations.
Currently, the shop is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Myers recently donated some items from her shop to the yard sale for Jude Myers. Jude is a 4-year-old boy from the area that is suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a disease in which a vital protein in the muscles is missing, and will eventually cause him to lose the ability to use some of his muscles.
His mother will be holding a yard sale on June 25 to raise money for the Jerry Lewis Telethon.
