Clarence started with Bruce Springsteen in the early 70’s and has had his staple sound featured on the season finale of ‘American Idol.’ Clemons, aka Big Man , performed with Lady Gaga for the show. His past has been dabbled with health issues and even left him performing in a wheelchair after double knee surgery.

A source close to the 69 year old confirmed the stroke on Sunday night which has fans sending prayers and well wishes. Our positive thoughts and hopes for a speedy recovery join them.

According to the band’s website , he is doing better and things are looking up…

“The latest out of Florida has Clarence Clemons in better condition than anyone expected, a close friend tells Backstreets: “Yesterday, it did not look good at all. Today… miracles are happening. His vital signs are improving. He’s responsive . His eyes are welling up when we’re talking to him. He was paralyzed on his left side, but now he’s squeezing with his left hand. This is the best news we’ve heard since [the stroke] happened — it’s nothing short of miraculous. The next five days will still be critical. But he’s a fighter.”

When the BIG MAN joined the band. I am glad you joined the show instead of Football. A lot of people would never had the chance to experience.I to have had a Minor Stroke no fun man but it gets better and better. I feel blessed to have seen the band 4 times,once at Hampton Roads Coliseum second row middle for 4 hours. man I was happy almost as good as sex.

Pangaea is terribly wrong. this song DOES have alot of meaning, and i believe its basically a song of someone that is having to go out into the real world, but he's made alot of mistakes, even though he's tried his best under his parent's bonds, and saying goodbye is a 2nd chance to make things right as himself and not with parental restrictions... great song... ^^ I just lost my husband, he is in heaven now. His last name was Moon and our daughter's name is Hayli. This song says alot to me because of him and his daughter's name being in the song. He was trying to make a new life out of town but his mother and father wanted him to come home. He did what he wanted and just wanted his mom to know that he was a big boy and was ok...idk, this song is a really good one for me right now. Good-bye Brett, my soul mate, I miss you every day! Wait for me in heaven and I will greet you also with a smile! I love you! For me, I have moved on, he knew that, and I am happy! SOMETIMES GOOD-BYE IS A SECOND CHANCE! Thank you Brett for the love we had and for giving me the one thing that meant most to you...our beautiful Hayli Rae! My oldest son died in a tragic hit and run accident in December 2009. Ironically,he really liked this song and it ended up being our family's song to remember our son's life. My youngest son was with his brother when he died, being the survivor of the accident. The man who hit our son's fled the scene of the accident leaving them their to die like animals without calling 911 for help. They were pedistrians. It was an untimely death, our son was 33 years old ,dying 2 weeks before his birthday. I cry everytime I hear this song because I know my son is telling me in my heart saying "sometimes good bye is a second chance" poor little pangea. This is absolutely great writing. He has taken his misfortune and turned it into a beautiful song. It relates to many of us here. we feel misunderstood and we want a second chance or give others a second chance. Look beyond what they lyrics are literally saying. Its not just that he is misunderstood but he also wants to get his life together.
